Gospel Lighthouse

This church had its beginning in the 1940s and was known as The Inn under the leadership of Elder James Moore. It became affiliated to the United Holy Church of America in the year 1949 and was renamed Gospel Lighthouse. After the retirement of Elder Moore, the pastoral duties were taken over by Pastor Reginald Bailey in the year 1969. He went on to serve faithfully for a period of 25 years, retiring in the year 1994. He was succeeded by Pastor Franklyn Smith. This landmark in the community was remodelled under the supervision of the then District Elder (now Bishop) St. Clair Howell. Between the years 2000 and 2006 Pastor David Coulthrust provided the spiritual leadership at the church.

In September, 2006 the mantle of leadership was handed to the then Pastor (now Elder) Patterson Boyce and his wife, Minister Sonia Boyce. As it proceeds into the next chapter, members are focused on attaining land and a new edifice for worship. They are committed to increasing the Kingdom of God as a church on the move with a vision and place for everyone. At Gospel Lighthouse, the belief is that the vision takes life when people involve themselves in its functions, formula and formats. We believe that involvement is the key to the vision; that the gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of change. Our practices and principles revolve around the life and practices of the church of Acts chapter 2.
